How to Clean a Printer

Whether the printer are frequent paper jams? Whether it puts ink when the ink is not to be? Is the outside of your printer or covered with dirty smudges? If so, it is time to clean your printer.

First, there are some general rules that apply to almost all the cleaning of electrical devices. It is best to turn off the printer before cleaning it. Do not spray water or cleaner or printer. Instead of a wet rag with it and clean the printer with rag.

Various types of printers require different methods for cleaning. So if you can get your hands on cleaning instructions for your make and model of printer, do it and follow them. Unfortunately, many manufacturers make this type of information available only for licensed technicians. In this case, you are stuck with these instructions to read.

Open your printer and look.

If you have ink-jet printer and ink is a mess inside, clean it up with wet paper towels.

If you have a printer that uses toner or vacuum, or blow the investigation. Some toner, especially color toner may be harmful to you so that you use only one vacuum, with micro-filter or blow toner and run. Figure out where the drum (it is shiny and larger diameter of rolls) and do not touch or scratch it. If you do this, in turn, will be scratches marks in each book that you print and will require that you replace the drum (not a cheap option) to fix it.

Learn on the road that takes paper through the printer. Clean all of the rolls (but toner for printer, not drum or drum rolls to track and rollers for after the drum, because they may be hot). It may take some disassembly and / or contorting of the hand you can get to some of rollers. Access is not always easy. The most important cleaning rolls are those who get a hard copy paper from the container and it transferred to the printer. If these rollers are dirty or bad, they will cause a coherent paper jams.

Rollers are made of hardwood or plastic. All of the rollers can be cleaned with water or alcohol trieshtite. If rubber rollers have deposits that can not get off, you can use cleaners harsher, but be careful because these cleaners can damage and rolls of plastic parts.

Cleaning a roller, cleaning of the roller with a wet rag, rotate a roller and cleaning again. Do this until they have worked their way all the way around the roller. Look at rag. If it had been blackened by roller, go to clean part of a rag and cleaning roller again.

Once everything is purely from within, close to it and clean outside. Cleaning off the case and each of the buttons or shtiptsi. If there is buy paper clips or sitting on it or wedged into cracks, remove them and throw them right away.

Other areas of the printer can be cleaned, but to do so, or will have to obtain training and special tools or to leave it for training.
